Abstract

What does it mean to be a 21st century digital literate ? We need to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s works and challenges such as they become aware citizens, regardless of being born or live digital, and to be fully independent in accessing and using resources, contents, relations, tools and features of the Digital Society.
Social networking environments are populated spontaneously just for the need of having fun and communicating. Learning how to use such environments to manage knowledge is a strategic asset to deal effectively with the dynamics of the Network. In this framework, we focus on the Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) skills that every lifelong learner should acquire in order to benefit from learning experiences, between formal, non-formal and informal learning in his own personal experience of lifelong learning.
