Abstract

Promoting critical reflection on spaces and materials has been widely recognized as an essential and necessary element in the educational and pedagogical design of ECECs: the article, using the finding emerging from the research on Centers for Children and Families conducted in Italy, begins by analyzing observations, images and floorplans, leading to a discussion about the educational and social implications that the structuring of spaces and the set-up of objects has in contexts where children and family members spend time together.
