Progettare il paesaggio al futuro: nuovi scenari per la pianificazione urbanistica comunale ad Ascea

Abstract

Ascea, a small Municipality in the south of Italy, is a remarkable example of biocultural landscape recently affected by pressure and fragmentation phenomena, owing to increasing tourism and expanding built up areas. Notwithstanding, new urban master plan has undertaken landscape as key element of a strategic development approach, conceived in accordance with Italian town and country planning new methods and legislation. Some master plan targets have been pushed to design solutions, while analysis, evaluation and interpretation processes have provided with a development model capable to recover and increase landscape resources and values and to make local community responsible on landscape management.
