Abstract

Coastal Landscapes are a significant cultural and natural heritage. A recent research on a case study in the Liguria Riviera was aimed to connect landscape protection and community welfare, in the spirit of the European Landscape Convention. Having collected and organized multiple data - including those related to the systems of values that are historically recognized or are part of plans and public acts - the research defined physical patterns at different scale, in order to produce a methodology of comprehensive evaluation able to detect heritage critical conditions, to suggest measures for a better landscape management and to provide guidelines for requalification projects.
