Abstract
The relations between education and landscape is a key issue within the current academic debate as well as a topic of numerous reflections and practices concerning the application of the European Landscape Convention. This article responds to the need for a greater knowledge of the Italian context, presenting the results of an online survey, which led to the mapping of numerous educational projects and teacher’s training activities, carried out between 2015 and 2017. From the analysis of the data it is possible to recognize some differences between school and non-formal education contexts, as well as common traits, such as the widespread tendency to consider mainly the transformations of the landscape that occurred in the past. Five different ‘ideas of landscape’, underlying the activities, have been also identified, testifying the multidimensionality and the richness, though not always fully grasped, of the concept of landscape as an object and a tool in educational contexts.
