Abstract

This article proposes a dialogue between theoretical-conceptual frameworks and situated experiences of mothering to explore how to construct anti-sexist, anti-racist and decolonial parenthood in the current g-local, technological and sociopolitical context, starting from the specificity and partiality of the author’s positioning. Some insights are analyzed that posthuman feminism theorized by Braidotti (2020, 2022, 2023) – with particular focus on the concepts of critical positioning and defamiliarization – and the engaged pedagogy of bell hooks (2020, 2022, 2023, 2024) – with that of revolutionary feminist consciousness – can offer for cultivating practices of parenthood as spaces for emancipation, authenticity, and political activism.
