Abstract

The paper introduces the thematic session of the current volume of RIEF, no. 1/2017, which is dedicated to the memories of family education. Oral and Visual History found especially in recent years “citizenship” also in the historical-educational field, at national and international level. The most recent prospects of historical research are actually moving towards the use of voices, sounds and images for the reconstruction of the transformation of individual and collective identity processes, in public and private everyday contexts, and also through the collective vision. Families, family relationships and cultures, and the universe of intergenerational relations as well are fields of research that can be enriched by the use of this type of sources.
