Abstract

The paper aims at reflecting on relation and communication in education. The first part proposes a brief pedagogical theoretical framework on the topic of communication within the educational relationship, and it underlines the concept of empathy. A discussion on the role of the educator follows to focus on the helping relationship to explore the topic of the management of communicative and relational dynamics. By arguing on the etymology and the misuse of the word “dynamic”, a reflection is proposed on the concept of strength and of communication as the meeting between two strengths. The third part discusses about the communication skills and, according to what shown before, proposes and reflects on counselling microskills that have been taught on University lectures for educators. Conclusions underline possible developments and attentions to be integrated in designing university training on communicational and relational skills for educators.
