Greening the city. La scelta delle specie

Abstract

The scientific and practical importance of the knowledge regarding the choice of plant material for future urban green areas has promoted, mainly abroad, a vast research activity from which many indications of scientific interest and practical utility can be derived. Planning green areas in urban environments subject to densification, their specific design and choice of the tree species to be planted must be balanced and sustainable so as to eliminate or at least to minimize potential management problems while at the same time maximizing the potential of trees in urban regeneration.
