Abstract

As nowadays climate change is becoming a central topic of discussion, not only in the university with many publications, researches, conferences, but also in the daily and private life of each of us — because we directly experience that something is changing and because of the many initiatives to raise public awareness that involve the entire planet — some voices are rising. Like that of Amitav Ghosh, who wants to shake up the collective consciences in recognizing the responsibility of the cultural matrix of the ongoing transformation. The analysis is sharp, identifying the political and cultural responsibilities that even writers cannot shirk from, also providing a critical reading of the Paris Agreement on climate change of 2015. This short text intends to accompany the reader through the words and thoughts of the Indian writer.
