Abstract

Starting from selected results of the COST ACTION PED-EU-NET and IEA EBC Annex 83 PEDs, this article presents an overview of the European projects that, in recent years, have made it possible to evolve from the nZEB concept (applied to deep renovation interventions) towards the Positive Energy District model, redefining the spatial, functional, organisational, technological and environmental aspects of the interscalar relationship between housing, building and settlement. The ambition is to affect the ongoing change positively, developing tools for knowledge and validation of current experiences, generating new shared values of an ecological-environmental matrix and promoting quality of life, inclusion and social sustainability.
