Abstract

Human activity produces effects all over the planet: environmental, economic and identity crises are interconnected. Even if their size is global, they are perceived and suffered at local level. The Anthropocene is the period in which humanity acquires the power to modify the natural processes of the earth in a similar way to those of a geological force. Philosophers and anthropologists have argued that this condition leads to the overcoming of the traditional and dualistic Western conception of nature as something independent.
New challenges are involved in the landscape project, we need new concepts of nature and culture. In this research the landscape project can be proposed as a relation field between ecology and human vision in order to set up a new relationship, a new brotherhood between artistic and scientific knowledge. By working on updating the interpretative and operational categories of the landscape project, it is possible to develop a search for new possible statutes between natural and artificial.
