Abstract
Based on an ethnographic case study of children’s everyday life in the Ragusan “Fascia trasformata” (Sicily), the paper proposes a reflection on children’s everyday life in contexts of marginality and spatial and cultural segregation, exploring some dynamics of resistance and children’s agency. It examines three pedagogical issues, which are crucial for preventing and combating inequalities from an early age: namely, tactics of resistance to the idea of a future determined by the family, the complexity of the relationship with the school, and forms of “sibling caregiving”.
